The Redwood Learning Lab—a vibrant and nurturing space designed to support and inspire students with specialized learning needs in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade, as identified by Redwood’s Student Support Team.
Rooted in the belief that children learn best through doing, The Redwood Learning Lab provides a dynamic, hands-on, and enriching educational experience that supports each child’s unique learning journey. Our specialized program balances targeted academic instruction with ample opportunities for exploration, creativity, and connection to real world experiences.
Who we serve:
- Students with the following needs are welcome to apply: ADHD, Anxiety, Executive Function Disorder, Specific Learning Disabilities: Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, and others at the discretion of the Redwood Student Support Team

- Outdoor & Nature-Based Learning – Students enjoy three periods of unstructured outdoor time daily, as well as frequent outdoor lessons across all subject areas—whether exploring place value through leaves and stones or participating in writing workshops under the trees.
- Social Emotional Development – Our program emphasizes communication, emotional regulation, empathy, and leadership—skills essential for thriving in school and beyond.
- Rich & Balanced Curriculum – Each day includes literacy, math, and project study, in addition to weekly classes in art, music, science, physical education, and Spanish.
Students in the Redwood Learning Lab engage in a rich, well-rounded school day that blends individualized instruction in a small-group setting with supported participation in grade-level activities. This balance ensures not only academic progress, but also meaningful social connections and a strong sense of belonging.

Hours
Redwood elementary is a full-day, 8:15 am-3:15 pm program, allowing more opportunities for deep exploration; extended learning centers; long periods of outdoor learning, including gardening and rich nature exploration; more opportunities for music and art; and time for social and emotional growth.
Class Size & Ratio
The low-ratio setting allows participation in grade-level activities, ensuring students receive personalized learning and rich social experiences. This approach fosters confidence, inclusivity, and academic success while helping every child thrive.
Learning Lab class ratios are 4:1
